TL;DR

TPOP will soon let travelers activate a 10GB Rome eSIM for free. All you’ll need to do is install the official TPOP app and activate the eSIM from inside the app. No credit card. No hidden traps. First come, first served.

What is TPOP?

TPOP is a community photo app that removes the awkwardness of asking strangers to take your picture. With TPOP:

ree
  • Anyone with the app is automatically available to accept photo requests nearby (you can always decline).

  • People who want a photo can auto-match with a nearby helper or scan a QR to start a session.

  • The photographer uses their own phone; photos are transferred to the recipient in real time.

  • Photographers earn points for helping; recipients use points to receive photos.

  • Privacy by design: photographers never get access to your photo gallery.

This community engine is what allows us to gift data responsibly—more on that below.

How the free Rome eSIM will work

ree
  1. Install TPOP (free) from the App Store or Google Play and create a quick profile.

  2. In the app, open Menu → eSIM and follow the on-screen steps to add the “Rome 10GB” eSIM.

  3. No payment details are required during activation.

  4. Make sure TPOP stays installed and notifications are allowed so you can receive occasional nearby photo requests (you can always ignore or decline).

Your eSIM will stay active regardless; allowing background activity just lets you benefit from TPOP’s community features.

  5. Land in Rome, turn on the eSIM line, and you’re online.

Device notes: You’ll need an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked phone. iOS 15+/Android 12+ recommended. Speeds and coverage depend on local networks.

Why is it free? What’s the catch?

There isn’t one. TPOP is building a community-first experience around travel photos. When you

have TPOP installed in Rome, you may occasionally receive a polite request to snap a photo for another traveler nearby. You’re always in control—accept, decline, or ignore—but helping out earns you TPOP points you can use when you need a photo.

The free eSIM is our way to:

  • Help you stay connected the moment you arrive.

  • Encourage community participation (which makes great photos happen everywhere).

  • Let you experience TPOP without friction.
